Teresa Zumwald accepted into the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA)

asjalogolink01ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, April 13, 2016 – Teresa Zumwald, owner and president of Zumwald & Company, LLC, has been accepted as a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA).

Founded in 1948, ASJA is the nation’s professional organization of independent nonfiction writers.

The membership consists of more than 1,100 outstanding freelance writers of magazine articles, trade books and many other forms of nonfiction writing, each of whom has met ASJA’s exacting standards of professional achievement.

Writers must apply for ASJA membership, which requires evidence of a sustained professional career as an independent nonfiction writer. Evidence includes articles, books, ghostwriting, content for many kinds of clients and even staff work.

ASJA brings leadership in establishing professional and ethical standards, and in recognizing and encouraging the pursuit of excellence in nonfiction writing.

The Society’s exacting standards limit it to only those freelance writers who have been published over a substantial period of time by recognized media.

ASJA headquarters are in New York City. ■
