ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Aug. 21, 2017 – Teresa Zumwald will moderate the “Defining Your Leadership Legacy” panel at the 10th Annual Leadership Conference for Women in Business Networking (WiBN) on Sept. 20, 2017, at the Dayton Convention Center in Dayton, Ohio. Zumwald is owner and president of Zumwald & Company, LLC.
- Anita Emoff, CEO, Boost Technologies LLC
- Cassie Barlow, director, Aerospace Professional Development Center at Southwestern Ohio Council on Higher Education
- Shannon Isom, CEO, YWCA Dayton
- Nan Whaley, mayor, city of Dayton
Attendees will learn to empower and uplift others as they seek to progress in their lives and careers. Here is an introduction to the leadership legacy topic:
How often do you think about your legacy? What will you leave behind for the organization and the people you serve? How would others define it?
Legacy is not defined by your age or the amount of time served at an organization. Your legacy will represent your body of work at each stage of your career. In this session, you will be inspired by our panelists as they discuss how their mentors left their legacy and what they are doing to lift up other women around them. Learn tools and tactics to help grow your legacy as a leader, no matter your position.
What is a leadership legacy?
Your leadership legacy is defined by how others approach work and life as a result of having worked with you, according to Robert M. Galford and Regina Fazio Maruca, authors of the book “Your Leadership Legacy.”
“These authors say that considering your legacy — looking to the future now — will make you a better leader today,” Zumwald said. “That’s because the actions you take today will shape how you are measured as a leader in the future. I’m excited to facilitate this conversation and hear the stories, experiences and advice that our panelists will share.”
The 3:30 p.m. panel is the last session before the leadership conference concludes at 4:30 p.m.
