Dozens of women business leaders in Ohio attend ‘Speak Like a Leader’ workshops in Q1 2025

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, April 1, 2025 – Teresa Zumwald facilitated two “Speak Like a Leader” workshops for women in business in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, during the first quarter of 2025.

The first workshop was delivered Feb. 21 to women leaders in mid- to upper-level management enrolled in the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Empower cohort, a 10-month program that blends professional business coaching with an innovative curriculum and problem solving.

The second workshop was delivered March 19 in Columbus to women business owners associated with Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley (WBEC ORV), a regional partner organization of WBENC, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. WBENC is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs.

During Part 1 of the workshop – “AIM for Impact” – attendees learned a simple but powerful formula to plan their next speech or presentation – long before they outline, script or design slides.

Speakers who AIM for Impact before they speak are ready to build a talk with intention and change the way their audience thinks or behaves.

During Part 2 of the workshop – “Drive ROI” – attendees learned a seven-step process for creating and delivering a high-stakes presentation that drives return on investment and a clear business result every time.

The tools taught during the workshop will help attendees be more intentional and prepared when speaking in public, whether to small or large groups. Attendees also got hands-on practice using these new tools.

During the Empower cohort workshop, Zumwald helped one member troubleshoot a challenge with a change management presentation in process for her organization. Later, the Empower member said, “I enjoyed your session and the subsequent materials. Thanks for helping us be more strategic with our speaking engagements.”

Another comment came from a WBEC ORV workshop attendee, who said, “Your expertise and energy made the workshop both enjoyable and practical, and I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned.”
