Teresa Zumwald wins IABC Heritage Region Silver Quill award

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Oct. 14, 2013 – Teresa Zumwald, owner and president of Zumwald & Company, LLC, received a 2013 Award of Excellence in the Heritage Region Silver Quill competition by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

Zumwald’s entry, a 20-minute keynote address, won in the Writing – Speeches category.

The speech was prepared for and delivered by Barbara Hayde of The Entrepreneurs Center on April 9, 2013, at the University of Dayton.

Hayde delivered the speech at the University of Dayton’s annual School of Business Entrepreneurship Dinner. The audience included students and graduating seniors in the university’s entrepreneurship program; entrepreneurs named as finalists in UD’s prestigious, nationally recognized Business Plan Competition; School of Business faculty and staff; and highly successful entrepreneurs in the region who support the program and mentor students.

The Heritage Region’s Silver Quill Program recognizes excellence in business communications in multiple and varied disciplines. Silver Quill Awards are presented to outstanding professionals who have proven that their communication programs effectively furthered the goals of their organizations – boosting revenues, reducing cost and motivating audiences to a desired action.

Zumwald was among the Silver Quill winners honored at the fall Heritage Region Conference today. ■
