State of Ohio certifies Zumwald & Company as a WBE
ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Nov. 18, 2024 – Zumwald & Company, LLC, a firm specializing in speechwriting, speech coaching, executive communications, and speaking and training, announces its certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) in Ohio, awarded by the Ohio Department of Development.

Ohio’s WBE program is designed to help women-owned businesses secure contracts across various sectors, including goods and services, construction, architecture, engineering, information technology and professional services.
Ohio established the program to encourage, nurture and support the growth of women-owned businesses, fostering their development and increasing the number of qualified competitors in the marketplace.
This is the third certification Zumwald & Company has received as a woman-owned business.
In 2021, the company earned its national WBE certification from WBENC, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, as well as its WOSB (woman-owned small business) certification. Since then, Zumwald & Company has earned WBE and WOSB recertification annually.
Throughout her career, Zumwald & Company’s founder and CEO Teresa Zumwald has been a champion for women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses:
- In the 1990s, she served in several leadership roles for the Dayton chapter of Women in Communications, Inc. in Ohio.
- From 2010-2013, she served on the founding advisory board for Women in Business Networking, now a program of the Better Business Bureau, and later delivered several training programs benefiting women in business.
- In 2024, she began serving on the advisory board for the Women in Leadership Certificate Program at Ashland University in Ohio.
“As a lifelong Ohioan, I’m proud that our Ohio-based company has received this certification so we have new opportunities to serve businesses here,” said Zumwald, who recently signed a contract for speechwriting and executive speech coaching work for a city in Ohio.
Certified WBE program participants are eligible for contract assistance, management and technical assistance through the Ohio Department of Development. Zumwald & Company must reapply annually for recertification.
