“We Can Create a Better Experience for Women in the Workplace”

FORMAT: Speech
CLIENT: Executive at a North American company with 65,000+ employees
INDUSTRY: Automotive
OPPORTUNITY: To celebrate and honor Women’s History Month in March
CHALLENGE: To persuade leaders and colleagues to confront the compounded barriers women face at work and to actively change everyday behaviors so all women have a genuinely better experience in the workplace.
SERVICES: Speech strategy/alignment to corporate strategy, planning, interviewing, research, message and framework development, speechwriting, line editing, executive speech coaching
APPROACH: Build the speech as a simple, clear journey:
- Name the problem
- Show how it feels at work
- End with a direct challenge to the audience to inspire action
Lean heavily on storytelling, using vivid personal and historical stories (a Walmart executive, Eleanor Roosevelt and Marian Anderson) so people could see and feel what “showing up” looks like, especially at work.
Techniques that stand out include repeating short, punchy phrases (“show up, speak up, leg up”), asking direct questions to pull listeners in and closing with a memorable call to action: “Change is powered by YOU.”
SAMPLE: Request a copy of the speech
“What a great message! Very interesting stats!! Love your ‘show up!’ call to action for all.”
