Zumwald & Company earns WBE recertification for the fifth year from WBENC

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, May 7, 2026 – Zumwald & Company, LLC — specializing in speechwriting, speech coaching, executive communication, and speaking and training — has been recertified for the fifth year as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley (WBEC ORV), a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENC certification is the most widely recognized and respected national certification for women-owned businesses in the United States.

“Since 2021, being WBENC-certified has opened new doors for my business,” said Teresa Zumwald, CEO of Zumwald & Company, the firm she founded in 1989.
“I have attended national WBENC conferences and regional WBEC ORV educational events; delivered our professional services to serve other WBEs in our region and beyond; and grown through professional development programs such as WeTHRIVE and WeTHRIVE Digital.”
Certification gives WBEs access to a national network of support that includes targeted opportunities, more visibility in supply chains, professional development programs to increase growth and capacity, and networking and mentorship opportunities with thousands of women entrepreneurs and their supporters.
“The women entrepreneurs of WBEC ORV and WBENC are generous advisers who have connected my business and me to fascinating people with smart ideas that have shaped how we work today,” Zumwald said.
WBENC certification is a meticulous process that includes thorough vetting — an in-depth review of business documents related to ownership, financial structure, staff, management and governance — and a site visit. The certification process validates that the business is at least 51% owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women.
Because of this thorough process, WBENC certification is considered the gold standard for WBE certification, accepted by major Fortune 500 companies and some states, cities and other entities, according to WBENC.
Zumwald & Company also earned recertification as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), a federal program that helps women-owned businesses compete for federal contracts.
