Zumwald named president of IABC Greater Cincinnati
ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, July 1, 2017 − Teresa Zumwald, owner and president of Zumwald & Company, LLC, has been named president of the Greater Cincinnati chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
IABC is a global network of communication professionals committed to improving organizational effectiveness through strategic communication. Established in 1970, IABC serves members in more than 70 countries with networking, career development and personal growth.
The Greater Cincinnati chapter has approximately 50 members.
As chapter president, Zumwald is responsible for:
- Providing general supervision over executive affairs of the chapter
- Presiding over meetings of the chapter and the chapter board
- Performing other duties necessary to the office or as prescribed by the board
“As president of IABC Greater Cincinnati, I lead a terrific team of 11 committed communicators: true pros dedicated to our purpose of advancing the profession, creating connection and developing strategic communicators,” said Zumwald, an IABC member since 1995. Previously, she served as the chapter’s vice president of programs and as a senior board member.
In September, the chapter will kick off its 2017−2018 year with a program at the Cincinnati Zoo entitled “Managing the Fiona Phenomenon,” which will focus on the “why and how” behind the Team Fiona marketing campaign. Fiona, a hippo calf born six weeks premature, was catapulted into social media stardom after her birth on Jan. 24, 2017. The program is expected to be a sellout.
The chapter routinely plans professional development and networking programs for communicators in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas.
