Zumwald serving a second term on international committee for IABC

Teresa Zumwald and other members of the IABC Program Advisory Committee moderated sessions at the 2021 IABC World Conference.

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Aug. 22, 2021 – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has selected Teresa Zumwald of Zumwald & Company, LLC to serve a second one-year term on an international programmatic committee for 2021–2022.

Zumwald is one of 24 professional communicators worldwide serving on the Program Advisory Committee (PAC), which works collaboratively with IABC staff to ensure that the IABC World Conference is a high-value professional development experience aligned to the needs of the global profession.

The 2022 World Conference will be held June 27–29 in New York City.

“It was an honor to collaborate with colleagues around the world by serving on the PAC last year, when we intentionally focused on planning THE virtual communication conference of the year as the pandemic and its aftermath continued. It has been good continuing to raise the bar with this conference, which is what IABC should always be pushing to do,” Zumwald said.

“In 2022, the anticipation is that we will be back in person again, with a virtual component as well. The opportunity to be part of planning our ‘comeback year’ is exciting.”

According to IABC, international committees are a critical component of the association’s governance structure. International committees help develop programs, represent members in decision making, and help further the goals of the board and the association at large. Serving on an IABC international committee is also an opportunity to gain leadership experience, refine skills and work hands-on with leaders around the world.

IABC’s programmatic committees, like the PAC, work closely with, and act as an extension of, IABC staff to help accomplish the goals of the organization.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the upfront work required to ensure that the quality of this important conference continues,” Zumwald said.

An IABC member since 1995, Zumwald is currently a senior board member for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of IABC. She is a past chapter president and a past vice president of programs. She has also served on Bronze Quill and Silver Quill judging committees for other IABC chapters and regions.
