WOSB certification earned by Zumwald & Company, LLC

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Aug. 22, 2021 – Zumwald & Company, LLC is proud to announce national certification as a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley (WBEC ORV), a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

According to WBENC, to help provide a level playing field for women business owners, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the women’s contracting program.

These contracts are for industries where women-owned small businesses are underrepresented.

Joining the WOSB Federal Contracting Program makes a business eligible to compete for federal contracts set aside for the program, according to WBENC.

The WOSB standard of certification implemented by the WBEC ORV is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, government agencies and corporations demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs.

In May 2021, Zumwald & Company was awarded national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by WBEC ORV.
